Margaret was a quiet person with a huge inner world, and deep love for those in her life. She would love some quiet conversation here.

Please share with us.

I will miss you, Margaret. You were such a kind, generous friend, always doing nice things for others. In your quiet way, you were incredibly knowledgeable, and I learned many things while sharing a cup of tea with you. New recipes, natural medicines, places to go on Amherst Island to fetch wool, news about your grandson Benjamin… You accepted to adopt our cat, Tigresse, when we were away in Spain, and you were so good to her that I’m not sure she really wanted to come back with us when we returned. You had her own special door installed so she could come and go as she pleased in the daytime, but you wouldn’t let her out at night, for fear of some harm coming to her. You also accepted to do take care of my most delicate plants while we were away, and they were always in much better shape when I returned.
You were a friend in a million, Margaret, and it seems so strange now to not be able to phone you and suggest getting together for tea. May your soul be at peace!

Please accept our most sincere condolences.
When we arrived in Kingston fresh off the boat in 63, Margaret and Stephen went to great lengths to make us feel welcome here
I have vivid memories of July 68, when we were more or less neighbours, Margaret and I were very pregnant! She was my go to person in case of unexpected events, well she was the one who drove me to KGH (with her usual calm), our daughter was born 2 hours later and Marion arrived the following week. There was a lot of laughter that month and I recall these moments with great fondness.
We occasionally ran into her, she always spoke of both her children’s accomplishments with a quiet pride. She never failed to ask about our kids, pronouncing their French first names with her impeccable accent
Jean-Jacques and I are both very saddened by her death. We wish you all bon courage.
Christiane

I will always remember the first time I met Margaret, I was throwing a party for the young company at Stratford in 1992. ( it turned into quite a loud raucous time...with actors playing drinking games on the back porch ). Suddenly, through my back door...( after passing through the rowdy porch ), a beautiful smiling friendly face appeared, Margaret had arrived (with Marion )...to the party . Margaret wore a lovely spring dress , it was creamy white , with small cornflower blue and lavender flowers . The style and cut looked perfect on her, and like one I’d later see Margaret wear duplicated in other fabrics. The innocence , curiosity, and kindness in her expression, and Margaret’s genuine pleasure on being introduced ...filled my evening kitchen that moment ...and for many years to follow.
Perhaps the kindest soul I’ve ever had the pleasure to have
met 🤍💜💙.
Here are some photos of Margaret, helping Allan and I, working on a light up dress that we were going to use in a new musical, one we were working on a few Christmas ‘s ago ...in my same kitchen..with my daughter Zoe..!
( I’m sorry they’re so blurry )
